Hood House and Rowley Hall

The land used for the park was part of the Estate of Hood House, which is shown on the 1848 map, below. Hood House Lane still exists today but the house has gone. Hood house was recorded as early as 1563 and was once owned by the Halstead Family of Rowley Hall, Worsthorne-With-Hurstwood, to the East of Burnley.
